As information agency Finmarket (group Interfax) reported – “It was decided to give up the plans to increase the length of service level (the level when the sick leave is paid to the employee in full) from 8 to 15 years”. BDO outsourcing division’s experts commented the situation.
“The proposed earlier by the officials increase of length of service level from 8 to 15 years, the level when the sick leave is paid to the employee in the amount of 100% of base salary, caused great public reaction, and we decided to abandon it”, - reported IA Finmarket. The law draftsmen decided to hold over a number of other reforms.
Elena Sorokina, BDO outsourcing division’s methodologist:
- The proposed changes will make rather complicated computation scheme of sick leave payment even more complex. The employers will have to calculate payment for maternity leave basing on the employee’s salary for two preceding years. It will be necessary to change scale steps in the computation scheme for determining percent of sick leave payment in accordance with the employee’s pensionable service. Since the social insurance is planned to be expended to employees working under the civil law agreements the base composition on insurance contributions in the part of SIF will be changed. The employers will approve for payment sick leaves of employees working under civil law agreements and calculate payments in accordance with new rules. The companies should be ready to the fact that sick leaves payment fund will grow due to another reason – it is planned to increase the period of sick leave payment out of employer’s funds from 2 up to 3 days. The proposed changes will also influence the reporting SIF forms.
