BDO Unicon Outsourcing has passed conformance check on the new international standard of data security ISO 27001:2013 and has obtained the relevant certificate. It was the first of all Russian organizations to apply for the certification audit on the new edition of the standard, and one of the first to obtain it.
Employees of BDO Unicon Outsourcing were trained on ISO 27001 at Russian affiliation of British Standards Institution (BSI) and brought data safety management system to conformance with the latest requirements of the standard.
ISO/IEC 27001 is an international standard establishing regulations for establishment, development and maintenance of data security management system (DSMS) in an organization. The standard was created on the basis of the world's best practices in data security management and is a DSMS conformance guarantee to the highest world's standards in a company granted with ISO 27001 certificate. Edition of ISO 27001 as revised in 2013 has allowed companies to optimize the process of DSMS establishment by highlighting risks management with a particular 'holder' (the organization's employee) being responsible for each of them. Moreover, terminology of that edition maximally correlates to vocabularies of other international standards.
In June, 2014, BDO Unicon Oustourcing has been audited for data security, and BSI decided to issue an ISO 27001:2013 standard conformance certificate to the company. It should be noted that BSI is one of the leading international certification societies, and the world's first standardization entity.
