On September 5, 2011 in Moscow at the office of BDO group an open session of the Committee on BPO Association of strategic outsourcing “ASTRA” took place. The subject of the session is “Primary targets on development of Russian market of business processes outsourcing”.
The session with participation of more than 30 companies specialized on service rendering in the sphere of business processes outsourcing was initiated by outsourcing division of BDO group in Russia together with ASTRA Association. Outsourcing division of BDO group in Russia is today one of the leading market players (according to analytical weekly Expert).
The major companies rendering services in the sphere of statutory accounting, payroll and HR administration were invited to discuss jointly the formation of civilized market of business processes outsourcing in Russia and to draft action plan for the next period. Association “ASTRA”, BDO in Russia and Intercomp Global Services (the representatives of these companies presented reports) took part in the session, as well as guests from Ancor, Unistaff, ABU, UCMS, Sodexo, BearingPoint, Grant Thornton, Marlin Group, NOC, Nord Outsourcing, Alinga Consulting, accounting company “Konstanty” and 1C firms.
Opening the session with welcoming speach, Sergei Makedonskiy, president of “ASTRA”, emphasized possible forms of cooperation and contacts between companies and Committee on BPO of “ASTRA” Association, presented the development strategy of Association and offered the representatives of the companies to get involved into the formation of BPO glossary and service providers catalogue.
Further Matthew Shocklee, the representative of International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP), presented to the sitters report on subject “IAOP activity, key projects in developing countries, services for partners”. In his presentation he drew attention to the extension of post-crisis revenue growth of outsourcing services sector in the world, especially in developing countries in which the consolidation of companies’ efforts on formation of market of such services is still in progress. Mr. Shocklee marked the importance of education and advanced training of personnel and invited the representatives of companies to his seminars that will take place as a part of Forum ASTRA on October 10, 2011 in Moscow where Matthew Shockly will answer the questions of hearers personally.
Sergei Tiunov, General Director of Outsourcing division of BDO, mentioned specifics of the Russian service market, particularly mistrust to the state as a law regulator and guarantor and lack of credibility to partners as a result of heavy history of market economy formation in Russia. Mr. Tiunov emphasized the importance of development of positive image of outsourcing as a strategic tool of increase in labour productivity, execution of business events and trainings for potential customers, as well as publications and presentations aimed at outsourcing ideas promotion. Joint efforts on market expansion finally will lead to revenue increase for all competent market players. “Outsourcing is a part of effective business paradigm. And our purpose is to get this message to the most general audience,” highlighted Sergei Tiunov.
After the session a round table on issues of feasibility of preparation of Glossary of BPO terms and participation in this project took place. Most of guests, including participants of round table, consider that such Glossary is necessary and they showed their interest to participate in this project.
Among strategic objectives of the Committee approved at the session of “ASTRA” in September 2011 are gathering of leading companies – BPO market players for discussion and solution of problems of the business area development, promotion of positive experience of BPO outsourcing in Russia, localization of international practices and development of uniform standards of outsourcing services rendering in Russia, promotion of initiatives in BPO sphere at the national level and assistance in generation of legal basis of outsourcing, development of educational programs and training of professional personnel in BPO sphere, as well as implementation of regular analytical researches of Russian BPO market.
